Cyber Policy Leadership Institute (CPLI)

The Cyber Policy Leadership Institute (CPLI) offers students, particularly those from underrepresented groups in cyber, opportunities to learn and engage in both US and international cybersecurity public policy. CPLI's curriculum emphasizes the importance of a racial equity and human impact perspective in policy-making, ensuring that policies are inclusive and equitable for all communities. It introduces students to the basics of U.S. and international cybersecurity public policy and fosters holistic learning.

While open to all undergraduate and graduate students, CPLI encourages interest and applications from all racially-diverse students (currently under-represented in cybersecurity), including students enrolled at Historically Black Colleges or Universities (HBCU), Minority-Serving institutions (MSI), and Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCU).

The institute will help train students to analyze cybersecurity public policies to address evolving cyber threats and empower participation from those historically underserved and underrepresented communities.  As participants in CPLI, students will have access to mentorships and internships in cybersecurity and public policy. In addition, students will have opportunities to further their education and networking through virtual and in-person professional and community events.

“As a Black woman and a national security policy expert, I am the result of many learning and writing opportunities, mentors, and numerous internships that helped me get to Congress and The White House."
